Jesica's Story

My passion is dance.

I discovered my passion for dance when I learned the dances of my Mexican culture. I started dancing when I was in middle school for a talent show. I may not have won, but I found my passion. Today, I dance in my church. It has been a good experience for me, especially dancing for my community. This program will build up my confidence and will help me decide what I want to do in the future. It is a great privilege to join the Peridance Open Classes program because I will be able to see how I will improve and what I am capable of doing.

Jesica is a good candidate for the Peridance Open Classes program because she is passionate about dancing. She is a very committed and hard working person. She practiced for months before her Quinceanera. She had dances with her friends that she had them also practice for months before her party. She is always extremely positive and up lifting.

I am glad to be accepted into this program through Wishbone . As a student it is a privilege to be attending a summer program like this one. It may open my eyes to what it is like to be in classes for dancing by learning new things every day. The funding I have received for this program was through the help of my family members but also people who care about me. It may be an experience that may be in a different atmosphere but there are always risks in taking chances. It is also helpful having people that are supportive with the decisions you make or do. It may be a challenge being with the group since I wont know anybody but i am willing to get out of my comfort zone. I am content to the fact that I was able to get in a program like this one during the summer.
