A Note from Ms. Whitaker Haaheim, melady's Mentor

Melady is a determined self-starter who is a trained athlete. Some people mistakenly underestimate the athleticism that is required by dancers in their training, but since her beginning with BalletHaven and her continuation into her arts high education up through sophomore year, she has developed a discipline and a dedication that is shared only among athletes.

I know how important sports are to Melady. I believe that being around other athletes like her will be both inspiring and fulfilling. It's an honor to support young people in pursuing what matters to them. I think we owe it to hard-working, passionate young people to be the ones cheering in their corner. Here, we have an opportunity to do more than that. We have the opportunity to send her to a place where she can come back transformed in support of who she truly is. That is a gift for all of us.
