Computers have changed the way we interpret information and how we live as a society. I became interested in programming when I found smart phones could not only call and text but allow users to access an unlimited amount of information. Although millions of people use smart phones and computers every day, few have the necessary skills to build them. I’m inspired to be part of this program to learn programming in order to help individuals have an easier life. I’m interested in studying not just how programming works but also learn how computers integrate into society. We can build better machines if we understand how they fit into our society that uses them. As much as computing is a science, it is also an art.
Jian would be a great fit because he is very interested in computer science and programming and anything to do with the tech world. However, he does not have very much experience in this due to his background and the ability of his family to send him to camps. He would definitely benefit in participating because it would give him an opportunity to explore something that he is interested in and get him involved in something during the summer.
I am most excited to be able to learn in one of the most prestigious universities in the nation through this summer program. Throughout this experience, I want to not just develop programming skills but also build friendships, teamwork, and collaborations with other students and faculty members in order to have all the necessary skills to become a programmer. I am nervous about getting lost at Stanford because it is so large and I hope that I can find my way on the first day of the session. The most challenging aspect I will face during this program is making a new group of friends in a very short period of time but in order to overcome that, I need to connect and be open to people that have the same desires and aspirations as me.
There are no words to express my gratitude for your generosity. I am extremely grateful for your gift and generous support so I can attend a program in order to gain a valuable skill. You have provided me with the opportunity to do things that I never thought possible. You have not only given me a chance to expand my knowledge to learn what I’m passionate about but also help me make a difference. Because of your kindness, you have given me an opportunity to use this skill to help me make this world a better place. Thank you!
