Galilea's Story

My passion is art.

Art became my passion when I visited my first art gallery in Berkeley at the age of 12 and fell in love with the description and detail on each painting that was displayed. Every emotion and detail behind every piece made me feel like I was looking into their world and becoming closer with someone who I have never met. Through the pieces I feel as though I am able to look deep into the artist’s mind and soul and see their emotions. From that day I first visited the gallery, I was captivated and I only want that love for art to grow.

Galilea could benefit from Academy of Art Summer Pre-College Art Experience by enriching her understanding of the arts. Despite obstacles, Galilea works hard every day to pursue her dreams in art. It is important that Galilea has an opportunity to see herself in a program that helps her envision her dreams. She would find a like-minded group of students who could also encourage her to expand her creativity by learning more about art. Her work ethic, passion, and spirit would be a great addition in this program.

Thanks to your support, I was able to complete my summer experience in The Academy Of Arts University. It was a fulfilling experience where I learned about my career search focus and myself as a college student. I would not have had this opportunity without you, and I am really thankful. I feel more prepared, and like I received a bonus education that I would not have received in school.
