My passion is cooking.
As a child, I used to always sit in the kitchen with my grandma. I used to watch her take just about anything and make it into a delicious dish that everyone would obsess over. I wanted to be just like my grandmother at the time so I began to ask her to teach me. I was always given small jobs such as peeling potatoes, putting butter on the pans for cakes, etc. I felt so happy to contribute to such a important task. Meals brought my family together and without cooking meals wouldn't be possible.
With ICC Pastry Camp for Teens, I will be able to enhance the skills my grandmother taught me. I really enjoy cooking and I love learning new techniques to make me better. I always thought about being a cook when I grow up and now them I'm older, I would like to have some experience to see if this is really something I can see myself doing everyday. Also with this program I would be able to meet a new set of people who share this common interest do we can help each other get better.
I have known Ashlee since she was a student in my 6th grade math class. As a student, she demonstrated a ferocious curiosity and desire to understand each day's lesson. She is hungry for challenges and opportunities to tackle to obstacles.
Ashlee has a creative mind that also operates well within structure so I believe she is a strong candidate for ICC Pastry Camp for Teens. She will be able to grasp the science and logic needed in the baking process while also bringing zest and creative flair to her projects. Ashlee is also very outgoing and will be a good teammate to other students.
