My passion is nursing.
I discovered my passion for nursing because I love working with people and I like helping people, especially when they are not feeling well. I especially like to work with kids. When I was in 8th grade I was accepted in a nursing academy program where we took field trips on Saturdays, and we got to learn with hands-on activities. We learned about the different body parts, sports medicine, health careers, and what it means to be an EMT. After that, I started to volunteer for our school's blood drive and kept looking for programs and activities that would teach me more about the nursing profession. I want to learn as much as I can so that I can become a pediatric RN.
By going to Blueprint Summer at UConn, I will have the chance pursue my passion for nursing in a professional way, on a college campus. I will have the chance to push myself harder, and take on any challenges that may present themselves.
As a student at the Nursing Academy, Daniela has immersed herself in her studies, specifically the sciences. Daniela excelled in biology last year and is now focused on mastering chemistry as she prepares her transcript to be college ready. She participates in any extracurricular activities she is able to relating to nursing and health sciences including participating on field trips, school groups, and hearing guest speakers.
Daniela is an excellent candidate because she is caring, committed, and truly passionate about nursing. When the opportunity to apply for Wishbone was presented to the student body, Daniela was the first to come to me with a smile saying she was going to find a nursing camp. She will, without a doubt be an asset to this program.
