My passion is science and technology.
I grew up with science and math parents. This meant that, growing up, I was naturally good at science and math. I developed an interest in technology when I came to America. In Nigeria, the technology tends to be out of date, so when I came here I had to learn new technology. Along with my brother and my dad, I got really interested in coding and how a computer works, which is why I'd love to learn more about technology.
Alfred University Summer Camp will develop my passion by giving me more hands on experience. I have joined Girls Who Code, and I have started to learn how to code by myself. Now, I can actually see myself doing computer science as a career in ten or twenty years.
"Priscilla (Ono) is academically strong and creative; the bend of these attributes reinforces my belief that success is inevitable. She always stays late after school in order to further her education taking any and all tutoring classes, not because she needs to but because she is sure that practice makes perfect.
Ono is the whole package, she is reliable, kind, honest, and completely trustworthy—qualities that are often understated these days but mean the world to Ono. Attending Alfred University Summer Camp would give her the opportunity to realize her true potential."
My cousin went to Alfred University and is now a renowned sculptor.
He credits the University with encouraging his creativity. Here's hoping that your creativity and hard work will be encouraged, too!
