Machlie's Story

My passion is music.

Music became my passion after I figured out I had a voice. My mom had told me to join the church choir. When I finally went to choir practice, the choir director gave me a song to sing. When I sung, everybody's mouth dropped, including mine. Since then, singing has become something I love to do. Just knowing that I can express emotions in notes is astonishing to me.

I believe that the Tomato House of Rock Summer Recording Program will develop my passion for music. During this camp I will be able to meet guest artists, write and record new music, visit cool music sites, and do final performance at the end of the camp. Learning all of these different things will help me understand the line of work that I’m trying to pursue.

"Machlie has always shown a passion for singing. She has sung in our school's talent show, community organizations, and church. She also was a leader in music class in 9th and 10th grade. She has talent, passion, and works hard on her singing.

Machlie would benefit greatly from access to the Tomato House of Rock Summer Recording Programs. She would also benefit from interacting with peers from beyond Brooklyn."
