Towards the end of my middle school years, I found something that made me happy: fashion and anything that allowed me to show my creative mind. I have always been creative and have looked to make new items out of old ones. In 7th grade, I cut up some old, worn out jeans and made cute shorts for the summer. Anytime I wore my customized shorts, I received compliments. Then, in 8th grade, my friend and I began to make bows and hair clips that many girls started to buy. From there, I saw my interest in fashion grow. One thing about fashion is that if you have taste, then you can always make something look good. Attending Fashion Camp NYC would help me get an inside look of the fashion industry.
Having this wonderful summer experience would provide enough background information to help me figure out my choices in fashion. This experience would also allow me to revive my creative mind and make my own fashion statements. Additionally, surrounding myself with other people who strive for the same end goal would create a positive environment that would allow the advancement of each other's ideas.
"Jasmine displays exemplary passion, persistence and motivation in several of her classes including literature, which helped her receive one of the highest grades in the school on the last common assessment in literature. In addition, she does a great job of pushing the class forward when things get difficult. When the class is struggling to analyze a specific text, Jasmine is usually the one who is helpful in providing insight, driving class discussion, and selecting strong evidence from the text to support her answers.
Jasmine certainly is passionate about fashion. Though Jasmine has many strengths, she also has her areas of growth that I believe could really hold her back if she does not continue to deliberately work on them. Attending Fashion Camp NYC would help Jasmine build her leadership skills, her ability to manage her emotions, and her overall level of engagement and presence. Improving these areas would take Jasmine to the next level, and she would much more successful in school and beyond."
I really enjoyed myself a lot at Fashion Camp NYC. Everyone there are very friendly. I was inspired by The Wanderlust Girls; their presentation was very informative and inspiring. I've really been enjoying seeing everyone's style and how they find a way to incorporate different elements into their outfits. Also, it's been amazing meeting people from other places outside of New York and finding out that we all have something in common with each other. Thank you!
Hello everybody, I am very thankful for all of the money everyone donated to me. I can't wait to attend my summer program August 3rd - August 8th. This will be my first time doing a summer program, and I can't wait. It will be an amazing experience to meet other people with the same interests that I have and meet people I wouldn't normally talk with. As the school year is ending, I am counting down the days left to my program. You guys have helped allow me to explore my interest. Thanks again everyone!
