I enjoy playing every type of sport. The thing that most excites me about sports is that every sport has a unique objective. In soccer you must get a ball to go through three goal post. In football, the ball must be in a teammates hands and touching the area to score. Most sports require fast thinking and intelligence. To achieve the objective you have to to think in less than a second but it must be the appropriate move because you can lose the game. Additionally, in sports there is so much competition that it makes you addicted to the sport. I'm always trying to be the best at a sport which is what addicts me.
I have an interest in Aviation since 7th grade when I realized how interesting traveling above ground was. My father's dream is to see me in a job where I don't have to work extra long hours or work extremely hard to get a decent paycheck. My dream of a job is to go to my job being excited of what I am going to do. Being a pilot is a job that requires hard work and its also a job that you cannot get bored of. Every day its a different plane, different people, and different weather. This puts huge responsibility on your hands. This is what Abel Campos was made for.
Abel is an energetic student, and when he's not focusing on academics, he is dedicating his time to sports. He's passionate about school and his involvement in sports, however, an extracurricular program will help him explore other interests. This program is the perfect fit for Abel! From day one, he approached me and said, "Ms. Maciel, I want to be a pilot. Do you have any information about schools and programs?" Over the course of the year, Abel has taken the time to research some schools that offer aviation, and once he heard of this opportunity, he was determined to apply.
When I picture my future, I only see myself smiling. Learning new things about life, and most importantly I see myself gliding through the skies. I am more than excited, because this program will teach me how to become a pilot and what steps I need to take. However, although I am very excited, I am also super nervous. I’m nervous because what happens if my classmates have more knowledge in aviation than me? I don’t want to be the student who does not know as much as them. This idea does not scare me though because I am fully committed to work harder than the rest of my classmates to gain the knowledge necessary to complete the whole program. Learning how to drive an aircraft has always been something that I am interested in, but now that I have an opportunity I will take full advantage of it.
