My passion is basketball.
This became my passion because it was something I loved to do. Throughout my life, I have gone through many hardships. Through the years, I realized that when I played basketball, I was in a state of bliss. I related it to my everyday life, because if I couldn't control the way my life had its difficult conundrums, I could definitely control where the ball went and what plays were to occur and if I wanted to shoot it or not. Also, my love for basketball is the closest love next to my education and family. In addition, it helped me get my mind off of the situations going on in my life, and immediately focus on the game. This is the reason why basketball became my passion.
I will develop my passion of the game by surrounding myself with other students that share the same love for basketball, and strive to learn and push myself to my greatest capacities and take advantage of the opportunities, thus enabling my passion of basketball to develop. Also, by attending Nike Basketball Camp, I will be able to practice with a high level coach, while also receiving feedback that will help me in the future.
"Resiliency, inspiration, motivation and determination are all adjectives which describe Vanessa Ramirez. Vanessa has been part of multiple sports teams, captain of the girls basketball team, secretary of Valor Academy student body, and a founding member of Link Crew.
Vanessa stands out in size on the courts due to how petite she is. However, she has the biggest heart and passion on the floor. Her leadership role (captain) has allowed her to learn skills that she has been able to take on and off the courts. I believe Vanessa being part of a camp where she can continue to build her skills and be part of a community that shares the same passion will help build her confidence and bring great knowledge to her team."
I am delighted and blessed to have the opportunity to attend Nike Basketball Camp through Wishbone. With your tremendous support and gratitude, I am allowed to experience this program in the next month. My program will help to better me as a basketball player, athlete, and overall person. It will teach me fundamentals and new challenges and tips to add to my game of basketball. Also, it will help me to interact with new girls with the same love for basketball as me and incorporate unity and create a family bond with them.
I am looking forward to having a lot of fun, networking, and making the most out of my time there. I also cant wait to work under skilled coaches. I am lastly, looking forward to making memories and carrying on the positive impact that this program will have upon me. Again, thank you for the support from everyone!
