My passion is photography and fashion.
I discovered my passion for photography in middle school, when I took a month long introduction to photo class. After that, being behind the camera fascinated me so much. I fell in love with photography because I am able to express a person's emotion through a snapshot, and I love how photography is an art, where people can't really tell you how or what to photograph to make that one perfect picture. Photography is where I am able to step away and take photos of my surroundings and the people around me in ways that interest me.
Having the opportunity to attend the Academy of Art Summer Pre-College Art Experience will help me enhance and explore my passion, or as I like to say, my "future career" because, I will be able to dedicate an entire summer to focus on what I love to do most. The Academy of Art will help me enhance my skills with photography because I will be able to improve on my Photoshop skills and have my work be the best that it can be.
"Roberto has demonstrated a strong passion for art and culture and has pursued his interests in the face of the many challenges. For students such as Roberto, there is a great deal of pressure to succeed in high school in college and to procure a stable and well-paying job. With this, participation in the arts is often awarded a low priority, and students are not strongly encouraged to commit time to the investigation of self-expression. In the face of forces such as these, Roberto throws himself into his work, showcasing a deep fascination and commitment to the visual and performing arts."
Here are the final product of my designs for my fashion styling class at The Academy of Arts. I am very proud of what me and my group accomplished in such little time for the photoshoot. It was even more rewarding when the model and the teacher said it was their favorite outfit of them all. The inspiration was Infusion style. It was challenging because it was a fashion style that I have never even heard of, and because we had such little time, but the results were great! We started off with pictures of what the style was, to give us an idea of what we wanted to do. The next step as a stylist was to create a mood board, to set the mood for the outfit and the message it was going to give.
Roberto, I am so honored to help with your journey, even if it only in a small way. Now is the time to pursue your passions and do those things that bring joy and meaning to your life. Felicidades.
