What I like about cheerleading is you get to work as a team. It helps you build social skills and teaches you how to work together. I also want to experience something new and something that would help me socialize more.
I want to join this summer camp because it is during summer so it will help me stay active and I think it will help me learn how to socialize and teach me more social skills. This will help me because I want be a doctor and being able to socialize is an important skill you need for that career. It is also important in other careers too.
This program is different from other programs because I get to learn from professionals that have been doing this throughout their years, so they have personal experience and are also well trained to work with teenagers. They will teach me new skills about cheerleading that would help my experience in cheerleading much better, and that I could use later in life because I do plan to be a cheerleader in college .
Cheerleading has given Dania purpose and focus. Before, there was not a compelling reason for her to do well in school and to take academics seriously. However, now that there is something she cares about and wants, she is really stepping up in other areas of her life. Getting into cheer camp will fuel her motivation. It will be four days where she will connect with her squad mates and learn new skills. She will start to plan for future performances and competitions. Being connected to school in such a profound way will motivate her to stay connected to her classes, teachers and grades. Before cheer, Dania was another bright student that was not meeting her potential. I have seen such a change in her over this year (and according to her other teachers as well) that I really hope she gets this scholarship. It will do wonders for her self-esteem and motivate her to push herself in other areas.
I am so excited to have this opportunity to improve my cheer skills this summer. This will be a great opportunity for me and I can't wait to meet the other campers and spend time with them. Thank you for giving me this experience!
