Jayvonn's Story

My passion is Basketball.

I discovered my passion of basketball when I was young. My family is really into sports and basketball is one of our favorites. I remember watching a few seasons of hardwood classics and noticing how the players made the game so much more than a game. The way they moved, the way they acted as a team, and the way they were able to make everything seem so effortless fascinated me. In particular, I remember watching a few games when Allen Iverson played. He facilitated the game and was able to create plays not only for himself but for his teammates and that really amazed me. From that point on, I made it my personal goal to work as hard as a possibly can to take my game to that level. I want to be a player who can make moves on the court to not only score by himself, but to also help his teammates score.

Attending Chelsea Piers NYC Basketball Camp will help me come closer to achieving my personal goal of taking my game to the next level. By working with coaches who have experience and knowledge in what is necessary to play on both the collegiate and professional level my overall game and basketball IQ will greatly increase. Furthermore, this will also give me a chance to improve my stamina and agility, which are also important factors in improving my game. Overall, by training with the staff at this facility, I will not only be able to achieve my goals as an athlete, I will also be able to pick up habits that may help me pursue a a possible career in my passion.
