I love playing video games with my family and friends. I feel it is a fun and active way to bond with people, build up my imagination and spark my interest because they're multiple genres to video games, it is just amazing. It would be absolutely amazing to pursue making video games and making my idea come to life would just make my whole lifelong dream come true!
During my time at iD Tech Camp, I studied the art of video game design and 3-D modeling. I also learned how to use multiple computer programs. During my camp, I made lots of new comrades. We enjoyed going out to grab slices of pizza while debating about different video games and discussing what we learned in class. After attending this program, I now see a possible career in my future. This camp also exposed me to the difficult environment I'll be working in if I plan to pursue this career. I would highly recommend this program to a friend because it is an easy way to gain knowledge in this subject area. It also helps you build up a network for when you plan to pursue this area later. A simple word of advice would be to stay calm and collective. The classmates you will be with are going to be in the same situation as you are. It is easy to open up and collaborate with the other students in the program. Just be yourself because you will be with likeminded people who are interested in the same things you are interested in.
My first day was challenging yet very social. We began working in random teams and where assigned a project to begin designing within the hour we got there. That's when we began to socialize while working in the teams and we do have a lot in common.
Surprisingly the instructors of our program connect with the students on a new level of understanding as we debate on articles on discussions on games. It was a surprise on how fast people began to bond and form new friendships within one another and how at the end we all get along.
While thinking about attending iD Tech Camp at Vassar College, my mind is filled beyond capacity. This will be my first taste of being in college, yet that is not my primary obstacle. My plan is to begin expanding my knowledge on computer programming and use my free time to make and use the skills I pick up in the program. I am anxious about how little knowledge I have going into the program. I have no experience in C++ or Java or any gaming program. This is one large obstacle to get over, but that will only provoke me to do more than even my absolute best. Listening to all my advisors and peers and doing my own research will help me overcome this problem and have a great life changing experience.
I am honored to receive your donations. This is my first stepping stone into achieving my goal and escalate my knowledge with digital media programing. I will put in 200% effort while pursing my dream, and think about each and one of you that had help my my dream more plausible. While in Vassar College, before, during, and after I will appreciate everything you had done for me! Thank you so much!
