A Note from Mrs. Nunes, Danelys's Teacher

Danelys is an outstanding candidate for US Sports Nike Volleyball Camps for a multitude of reasons. I have personally watched her practice and play many times this season, as it is important to support kids with what they do both in and out of the classroom. What makes Danelys a spectacular student and volleyball player is her commitment, her determination, and her willingness to learn from, work with, and teach others. Danelys is the kind of student that helps others when they are struggling, both in the classroom and on the volleyball court. As a young varsity player, she recruited and taught friends to play on the junior varsity team, granting others the experience of being on the team. In the classroom, she often translates for a student that speaks no English, and she frequently tries to explain concepts to and encourage other students when she senses they need help. She gets frustrated when others will not listen or try their best, because she is always putting her best forward, no matter what she is doing.

As a participant in US Sports Nike Volleyball Camp, Danelys will come ready and willing to learn, to cooperate with others on a team, and to help her teammates to learn and do their very best. An opportunity like this would open doors for college scholarships she might not otherwise have access to. This opportunity would strengthen her best qualities to be successful in many areas of her future life.
