My passion is nursing.
My passion for nursing stems from my drive to help people in need. When I am helping others, it allows me to feel like I am making a small change for the greater good. My surroundings pushed me to achieve my dream of being a nurse. There are many people that I'm around, including family, that have health issues. This sparked my curiosity to learn more about health and medicine, and to be actively involved.
Attending Baruch Leadership Academy Pre-Med will allow me to make my first big step for my passion of nursing. This program will allow me inside knowledge that I am unable to learn from classes offered at my school. Since I am new to this I'm sure it will be challenging stepping out of my comfort zone but I will also have other students that have the same interest to bounce ideas off of and help me continue on this path once I am done with this program. Helping me attend this program will allow me to bring my new found knowledge and skills back to my high school.
Tyra is a very smart and driven student who would grow so much as a result of this opportunity. By stepping out of her comfort zone and attending this program, she will continue on her path for success. She will be able to learn, express her ideas, and also just absorb the information while networking with many her own age range that share the same passion. Tyra has scheduled meetings with me sharing how she is concerned about the health of many in her community and would see herself giving back to them once she is knowledgeable.
Going to Ithaca College it was a great start to my summer. I had so much fun meeting new people from around the states and experiencing real college life. I was able to go off campus and explore Ithaca more which was also fun. Also taking general psychology was difficult at times but also very fun. I learned a lot and I feel like the information I learned can be very useful to me in the future. This college experience was very rewarding and I hope to do something like this again
I am going to be participating in General Psychology at Ithaca College this Summer. I am super excited to attend this program as it'll allow me to learn a bunch of information about the human brain. Learning about this concept will give me information that I can use with my future career to be in the medical field. I feel that in school, there aren't many opportunities to teach me about what I want to do in life and I think this program will do so.
I'm looking forward to working with other people in this program who share the same passion as me. I chose this program because I love helping others, and because it sounds like so much fun and gives me something to look forward to doing during summer break.
