My passion is writing.
My passion for writing stories and storytelling helps me discover a world I can control. It gives me the joy of having people experience the feelings that I put in my writing. I've always imagined a world that could become a reality through the power of writing.
The UCLA Writing Summer Institute will help me because writing is something I will look into as a future career. I would love to learn how to write stories and create such dramatic, adventurous, or heart-wrenching plots that the audience will connect with the characters immediately. I know this program will help me a lot in my English classes or any type of literature or writing classes.
Marlen is a great candidate for the UCLA Writing Summer Institute because she is at a high level of critical thought and opinion, but is in need of guidance in documenting her opinions through writing. Participating in the UCLA Writing Summer Institute will give her the opportunity to explore her writing strengths and develop potential gaps.
