My passion is in law enforcement.
I discovered my passion for law enforcement through the many years I spent watching police officers tackle crimes. I have always looked up to those men and women who put their lives at risk and fight to help keep our community safe for others to live in. Even after the many altercations that have been occurring with police brutality, I still believe that not all police officers are alike because there are many out there that willingly fighting crime.
Attending Blueprint Summer at Lehigh for one week will allow me to explore my passion for law enforcement because this program offers psychology and forensic science. These two subjects are very important aspects of law enforcement. Psychology will allow me to understand behavioral science and the many parts of what makes humans act the way they do. Forensic Science will allow me to understand evidence and learn how to interpret it. I grew up without either of my parents. I have learned to accomplish tasks on my own while still giving it my best effort. In many ways I am thankful for the many hardships I have gone through because they have shaped me into the individual that I am today.
Mariluz is extraordinarily passionate about community, family and friendship, and her education. She is an avid scholar and technology enthusiast, and her contributions can be frequently seen in our school's exhibitions. She strives to create and seeks platforms for which to express her creativity. At Fordham High School for the Arts, we aim to provide opportunities for artistic expression, emphasizing cross curricular ties between students' Art majors and their general education classes. In her AP Language and Composition course, Mariluz excels academically, but it is when given the opportunity to express literary interpretations through creativity that she really shines.
Our school does not have limitless resources, yet Mariluz spends countless hours researching and studying her interests and her craft. She brings incite into every room, continuously searching for connections to her passions and the world around her. Mariluz would make an excellent contribution to the Blueprint program. She is such an adventurous, driven, and humble young lady.
Blueprint Summer at Lehigh was an amazing opportunity that I am extremely grateful to have been given. I spent time learning and interacting with students from different backgrounds than my own. This program really opened my eyes to the things I should prepare myself to expect in college. I really enjoyed my time there and would love to go back.
I am super excited and grateful for all that have helped me raise the money for this summer program. I am really excited to meet new people and build lifelong friendships!
Continue putting positive energy out into the universe and that's what you will get back!
