Karoline's Story

My passion is photography.

I discovered my passion for photography when I went on a trip with my family to Arizona and I was in charge of taking the photos (age 7). Ever since then, I have been taking pictures of anything that appeals to me like sunsets, food, and attractive scenery to name a few. Over the years I have picked up tips and bettered my work since I went from taking blurry pictures to better quality pictures that have editing and are centered.

A Note from Ms. Clark, Karoline's Teacher

Because our school does not currently offer photography courses (or clubs!) it is extremely difficult to gain access to the knowledge and resources that photography requires. However, because Karoline is seriously considering photography as a career she is the perfect candidate; she is dedicated, easily taught and takes initiative to be the best that she can. As her teacher, I know Karoline pours her heart into everything she does and talks about her work with pride; this opportunity would not be any different. Karoline wants to be involved and she will put forth her best effort to prove it.

Post Attendance Update

My program experience went well and I learned a lot about black and white photography. This experience taught me to be more confident and that photography can be more than just a hobby. In the future i plan on implementing my new knowledge of photography when I take pictures and adapting to other forms of photography. After the program I developed a stronger passion for taking photos. Thank you to everyone who helped get me here, I am very grateful. <3

Update on my life before my program! :)

I'm going to be attending the ICP Teen Academy Darkroom Photography program this summer. This is such a good opportunity to learn about a different form of photography than what I've dealt with. This program will really help me get introduced to taking better photographs and learning the importance of time and capturing beautiful moments.

It's going to be exciting to meet others with my interests and doing something I find so interesting. I've always been intrigued with photography and I'm very happy to be apart of this. I look forward to participating in this program.
