John's Story

My passion for basketball came when I did not make the team my freshman year. I felt like all of the time that I had spent playing basketball with my friends went to waste. Instead of giving up, I let not making the team act as my motivation and I worked harder than ever. Through countless hours of hard work and training, I began to realize what the game really went to me. It has taught me discipline, has given me an outlet to express myself, and has helped me create friendships that will last a lifetime.

Attending the US Sports Nike Basketball Camp will help me improve my game. This summer camp will teach me new moves and show me what I can improve on. I want to learn new drills that I would be able to take back home with me to make me a better player, and that I can share with my community. I also hope to meet new people and develop connections that will last for a long time. This summer camp could improve my game to a level that I have never imagined, and prepare me for life after high school.
