My passion is medicine.
I discovered my passion for medicine when my brother got very sick. He was admitted to Yale Children's Hospital with an upper respiratory infection and was in the hospital for two weeks. I was there every day and was able to witness how the infection was treated and how the medical professionals interacted with my brother and our family. Watching these doctors make quick decisions, constantly thinking on their feet, and then moving forward with each new piece of information they had was exciting to me.
By attending Boston University, I will have the chance to attend college and take courses that will push me closer to this goal. I will have a better understanding of what it will take to work in the medical field, and I will have the chance to spend the summer with kids who have similar goals and passions.
Elizabeth is a remarkable student with the ability to set her eye on something that she wants, and work hard towards that goal. Lizzie has an early passion for the field of medicine due to some of her life experiences. Regardless of how much was on her plate, she made sure that she kept up with her classes, paid close attention to details in each of those courses, and worked hard to earn her grades. Elizabeth's passion in the medical field is admirable and she is ready for the hard work ahead of her. She is one of the few students I have ever encountered that will truly be able to take something away from a program such as this and use it to fuel her passion.
I am going to be attending the Boston University Summer Medical program in July. I'm so thankful for this opportunity and very excited to be joining the program. I hope this experience will further my knowledge in medicine. I can't wait to start! I've always had a passion for helping others that's why I chose this program. I also wanted to know for sure that medicine is what I want to pursue when I grow up. I am looking forward to this summer and I'm eager to learn more about this career.
