My passion is musical theater.
I was introduced to music when I was given my first keyboard and have been surrounded by it ever since. Until I graduated into high school, it was my sole interest. My high school didn’t have anything related to playing music, so I thought that I would have to abandon that passion and replace it with theater. When my school musical came around, I got to experience everything I loved in theater combined with my original passion of music through musical theater.
The Broadway Conservatory will allow me to explore my passion because it will give me a unique experience in musical theater. By having a variety of broadway songs to sing and dance to, I can experience different styles of music and which would expand my knowledge of the diverseness of musical theater. With the help of actual broadway professionals, I can experience theater in a professional and dedicated way with people who are as interested in musical theater as me.
"When I think of passion and drive I automatically think of Gabriel. Through his projects in class, I saw the talent in him and "strongly encouraged" him to audition for the Fall Production. He exceeded my expectations as a student and as an artist. No matter what I asked him to do, he went above and beyond. Gabe is the kind of student that comes early, stays late, and keeps up with his work.
Although I am passionate about theater, I am the only performing arts teacher in the school. Gabriel is currently taking my advanced class, but after that, there isn't much further to go. With a student as talented as Gabe, I'd love to be able to give him opportunities to further develop his craft."
