A Note from Ms. Darrow, Nathalie's Teacher

From the beginning of knowing Nathalie, I realized right away that she is a very passionate and motivated young lady. She is inspired by her love of reading and this caused an immediate connection between us because, I too, have loved reading from an early age. As the years went on, and Nathalie continued to thrive in her English classes, this love of reading transpired to a love for discussing literature. I believe her ability to have deep conversations with others, will take her far in life.

Nathalie has not had as many opportunities as others to express her intellectual side, although she craves it. She has not yet been able to sit in a college course but she plans to. She did not have extensive tutoring for exams like the SATs and English Regents, outside of the school, but she works hard, coming to Saturday school week after week and often staying after for tutoring. She inspires others with an effusive spirit and she is the type of student that reminds me daily why I have chosen to dedicate myself to this profession. She craves knowledge and with a smile.
