My passion is being fit.
In middle school and high school, I had always had problems getting the right amount of exercise and the right diet. I did not have any extracurricular activities, so all the working out I had was in school. In middle school, I would only have 30 minutes of exercise a week, and while I did get at least 4 hours of exercise a week I din't feel it as engaging and rigorous as it needed to be. I want to get to my full strength potential, learn how to eat healthier and learn new skills to carry on for the future. The only way to do this is though high amounts of discipline. All I know is that it will benefit me in the long run.
Based on Honor Code! U.S. Military Academy Camp's description, the program focuses on leadership, training, and being able to make goals for oneself. My goal is to gain skills based on strength and be focused in my goal to be healthier. I know that with this military academy I would learn many skills concerning combat, which is fascinating. I would love to know about survival, techniques in fighting and the history behind it all. War has always gotten my attention. When I was young I would watch shows like WWII in color, and now I play video games like War Thunder and World of Tanks. Learning from the ones that have studied the history would be awesome. The Academy will help me create the discipline myself for the better.
Barry has a love and passion for fitness - I know he is really excited about that component of Honor Code! When he was middle school, Barry used to set goals for himself and go to the gym on his own. Barry will also be a great fit for the U.S. Military Academy Camp because he has a strong passion for history, specifically military history. I know that Barry will take great advantage of this experience and make the best of it with his positive attitude!
I had a really good experience. The staff was awesome and the other kids were great. I now know about the West Point and the leadership values that they want to bring to the American army. While going to West Point was not my first idea of where I would take my life, it is now a serious option. I have a wider understanding of my world.
Barry, please make us all proud and be the best that you can be in this life and for your country. JAH bless you always...
