My passion is pre-college.
Since middle school, I have always been extremely interested in the college application process and student life. The idea of independence and experiencing college life excites me. By having the opportunity to experience this before I graduate high school, I'll not only be able to prepare for college life, but I’ll be able to explore my academic interests in an entirely new setting. My goal has always been to achieve with all my might. In order to pursue my academic passions, it is imperative that I invest my available time into programs that will help me do so. I also desire to learn at a more rigorous level and enjoy being challenged, not only academically but socially.
Prianca is one of the most curious students I have ever worked with. She is consistently interested in diverse topics ranging from science and math to current events and anthropology. For example, when we examined different standards of beauty she immediately went to her cultural roots and examined the appropriation of Indian culture in pop culture. She examined her own culture and presented on the history and background on Indian clothing, henna, bindhis, etc. It was an amazing presentation.
I am excited to be attending FIT Summer Live this summer. I will be participating in the Photography for Beginners course and the Jewelry Design course. Photography is something I am intrigued with, and I don't have a lot of time to practice it, so I am excited to have the opportunity to learn more about the basics. Also, the jewelry design class looks cool too. I have never had the opportunity to observe the process of making jewelry, so this hands-on class makes me excited to learn more. I look forward to the things I'm going to be making. I'm also excited about all the people I'm going to meet through this program. It's amazing that many teens around my age from all over the country are also going to be attending this program because they share the same interests as me, and I'm hoping to leave the program with new friendships. I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity.
