My passion is medicine. Ever since I received an opportunity to work at Henry J Carter, which is a hospital located in Harlem, I have been looking for programs and opportunities that will allow me to expand my interest in medicine. Medicine has so many aspects to explore. The experience of working in a hospital and being around medicine has given me a rush of indescribable feelings. I believe that Centenary Summer Scholars has all the potential in the world to help me pursue my passion in medicine.
Tele is an amazing student. When she walks in the door she lights up the room with her personality. She has a goal and is determined to meet this by finding and accepting any opportunity to gain more knowledge in this field. Tele has made sure to focus hard in her math and science classes so that she can get accepted to a school with a good science program to prep her for med school, which is why Centenary Summer Scholars is such an exciting opportunity for her. Tele has taken advantage of panels with current college students, med students, and doctors to gain more perspective. She has also signed up for all mentoring in medicine workshops we have been able to provide to students.
