Brisa's Story

My passion is art.

I discovered my passion at a very young age. In second grade, I admired my teacher's drawings and how he would use them to express his emotions and dreams. I started creating paintings to show how I felt about my family and then I started drawing more.

The experience of having art in my life was interesting because it became an outlet for me and was very therapeutic. This way, I can connect to people by showing them what I feel through my paintings and drawings. I draw and paint every chance I get and I hope to be an animator.

A Note from Mr. Wilson, Brisa's Teacher

When the school year started, Brisa noticed that my classroom needed some decorations so she took upon the task. The first days of instruction, she came full of art supplies and started working on drawings to hang on the walls. The following days she showed up with more art and suggestions on how we should decorate the classroom.

Brisa shows her artistic talents and passion at all times. She is a drawing machine. To her art there are no limitations; she is constantly drawing and painting on any surface she can get her hands on. Art is her favorite topic, we spend hours talking about painting techniques, materials, contemporary and canonic art, and we always compare it to other artistic expressions such as music, dancing, and literature. Brisa is unstoppable.

Preparing myself for my future dream

I am very delighted to enroll pre-college classes at Academy of Arts in San Francisco. I would like to thank your support for helping me get to my dream college and my goal towards my future. On July 3 , 2017 I will be attending the Academy of Arts for the first time and I hope it won't be my last.
