My passion is art, however I want to use my summer to further explore and determine what I want to do and be in the future. My family has always been involved with creating art, and it has stayed with me. I want to be able to take the dreams that my family had as immigrants, and make them mine. When my hands connect to a piano and I play, I create lovely music. When I piece together clips, I make a movie. When my pencil links itself to paper, my emotions, thoughts, ideas surface and it creates a story. Of my life, and my history.
iD Tech Camp will allow me to explore my passion of art through learning about technology. I am also very interested in video editing and am excited to combine art and technology this summer.
Xochitl truly sees the world differently. Xochitl doesn't need prompting, she knows what she wants her future to look like and with an upbeat and positive approach, works towards that dream even when resources are scarce. iD Tech Camp will help Xochitl tremendously. Given the opportunity to learn new skills from professionals will be essential to her growth. More importantly will be her chance to create connections with other students and learn from mentors and role models who have similar dreams. This camp could a defining moment as she journeys toward her dreams.

Because I know Jason, and if he believes in this person, then by God, so do I. This is the future of our country: people caring about each other, and therefore benefiting the world at large. A little help from me now could make a difference in Xochitl's ability to help us all later in life!
