My passion is film production.
Film production is one of two things that I am passionate about. Both film production and computer science involve creating or making a final product. However, I believe that film production contains more freedom to go beyond just computers. As an actor that participates in drama in my school, performing a scene allows me to articulate a central theme, which is usually done with passion. At times I would want to be the actor on TV, but I was always curious about what goes on behind the scenes. This curiosity lead me to explore the different types of way I could be involved in creating artwork or cinematic shows.
As I explained before I have two passions that I wish to pursue in college or sometime in the future. I have taken an interest in computer science, however, I want to be able to explore film production. Attending Boston University Summer Challenge will allow me to explore film production and potentially introduce me to a possible life career. Without the the experience, I will continue to be another statistic in the Bronx and possibly not even know what the field of film production entails.
Alex's drive to achieve his goals is admirable, and sets him apart from other students. He is a multi-talented person determined to succeed despite obstacles and hardship, both academic and personal. He is dedicated to his goals, motivated to meet them, and ambitious in setting them. He also has a warm, witty, and kind demeanor, which makes him well-respected by both his teachers and his peers. He is a member of National Honor Society, and has been selected to apprentice and run for their executive board for next year. Alex's academic record is incredibly strong, and his talent for drama and acting demonstrates his many talents. He is an ideal candidate for the Boston University Summer Challenge and I know he will take the most advantage of it in order to grow and impact those around him in positive ways.
