A Note from Mr. Weiner, Katherine's Teacher

Katherine's focus, motivation, creativity, and maturity stand at the top of the students I know; she is a remarkable student. Katherine is a strong mathematics student, but what really stands out to me is the flexibility of her thinking, the depth of her understanding, and the relentlessness of her drive to learn and improve. She carries that same drive and passion to anything I've seen her pursue, and I'm sure that she would bring all her tenacity, focus, drive, and desire to learn and improve at US Sports Nike Basketball Camp. Not only would she benefit from the experience, but she serves as a role model of hard work and focus to those around her, making her teammates and her fellow campers better in the process. I also think that Katherine would return to school all the more confident in her basketball skills, and I hope that it would give her the confidence and the experience to make the girls' basketball team at our school. As a student who does strongly academically, I think that the balance that athletics would provide Katherine would make her that much more compelling and engaged of a student.
