kanhaya's Story

My passion is cooking and I would love to attend the Campus NYC Culinary Arts Program.

As a young girl, I was always surrounded by different foods that were part of my culture. I loved to see how to incorporate different ingredients to prepare meals, but my passion truly developed when I had an uncle who was a chef. I saw a glimpse of what it was like to be a chef and that intrigued me.

Kanhaya would be a great candidate for the Campus NYC Culinary Arts Program since she is always willing to put her best effort into new endeavors. Kanhaya is one of our top performing students at Uncommon Prep and still finds time to volunteer around the school building. Whether it's helping out a fellow peer by tutoring after school or assisting in the office by collecting borrowed uniforms from her peers, she puts in her best effort and always does so with a smile.

Culinary Experience

This has had to be the best summer I've experienced. I learned how to make pasta from scratch and even ate foods that I've never had before and I ended up liking it. I also met people from all around the world. There were some from Venezuela, Dubai, and Japan. I enjoyed the experience so much and plan on doing it again

Summer Culinary Program

I am going to be participating in the Campus NYC Culinary Arts Program this summer. I am really excited to be joining the program because it will give me the chance to experience new flavors of food. I am extremely excited to try new foods, meet new people, and to receive a learning experience from an experienced chef. I can't wait for the summer!
