A Note from Mr. Heath, Tania's Coach

Tania has always been passionate about volleyball even before I met her. I remember when our athletic department was in the beginning stages of setting up the girls volleyball program in 2013, and I received an email from Tania as an 8th grade student. At the time, Tania would have been entering high school the following August, and she was asking about the details of the program such as start dates, try-out etc. It struck me that even though she didn't attend the high school yet, she had somehow heard a rumor that a volleyball program at the high school might be starting and she took the initiative to introduce herself before we had even sent out information to our student body.

From that point, Tania has shown nothing but passion and determination to be successful in the sport. She is often the first to arrive at practice and once practice is over she asks to borrow a ball and head over to Rutgers Newark where she managed to gain access for herself to an outdoor sand-court and she practices until nightfall throughout the fall season. Her positive influence on the team, and the program as a whole, is infectious. Even though she has had very limited access to facilities, she hasn't let that deter her passion for volleyball and her desire to improve in it.
