My passion is cooking.
From the beginning, I knew that food and I were meant to be. As a child, I had a voracious and unending appetite. I always wondered how one makes food when I saw my mother mixing different things either in a bowl, pan, or plate. When I would ask her what she was doing, she would always just respond, “I’m making dinner.” Eventually I got tired of just watching her make “dinner,” and my curiosity got the best of me so I told her, “I want to help”. She then handed me a grater and carrots. Next, she made me mix the ingredients all together. After finishing “dinner”, I felt very proud of myself for helping my mom and making food for the first time.
Kevin has a great passion and desire for the culinary arts, and would be an ideal candidate for the Sur La Table Teen Cooking Program because of his ability to receive feedback, desire for perfection, and his patience and knowledge in knowing that greatness takes time. Kevin has participated in all of College Track's DIY cooking workshops, and seeks every opportunity imaginable to enrich his life and gain new experiences. Kevin is a joy to teach and watch develop. He would be a tremendous asset to any program he enters.
