My passion is nutrition and nursing because when my mother had a heart attack when she was 30 it was very important to me to take care of her and also help her eat healthy. Nutrtion to me is one of the most important things in life next to education. Nutrition is an ongoing life determination and education thats shouldn't be taken lightly. Nursing is a skill that Iv'e learned from a young age, taking care of my mother, everyday making sure she has eaten or just things that she needs. Nursing is a way to express your caring nature for people. I live for taking care of my mother and also people around me, because it is a natural instinct. Both of these things are in the health field and you need help to live and also to be happy. If you don't have good health your mind will not be healthy. My passion is to inform people from my learnings and I also want to be educated.
Skye would be a wonderful fit to the program! Skye has built a business plan with a focus in nutrition so the idea of her being part of a program that opens her up to other concepts of health and science would be a wonderful thing for her! She is outgoing and social and would truly take advantage of the endless possibilities surrounding her that this program offers.
During my stay at the University of Toronto, I learned how college was going to be when I attend in the future. I learned that I have fast & slow metabolism. I now understand what is it like to learn from lectures because I sat through 4 lectures each day. We also participated in labs.
An event that happened that had a significant impact on me was when I met my roommate. I don't know if you could call that “an event”, but it made a friendship that will last forever.
Attending this program really opened my eyes to what college will be like. Next year I think I would like to do a longer program. This program really taught me to be open to new people. I also learned to go to bed early in order to wakeup early for class.
I would recommend this program to a friend, but only if they are ready for a real college experience and ready to meet new people.
My advice for future students of this program would be to go to be early because you need to be ready to sit and take in information. I would suggest bringing a coffee to lectures. It is also important to make at least 1 good friend you can rely on. Below is a picture of my roommate Tong and I on the dance cruise. She lives in China. The second picture is of my friend Hajar and I. She lives in Toronto. This was our goodbye hug!
What is most exciting about this opportunity is that I am going to another country and that I know French. I am ecstatic about experiencing college life in another country. The goals I set for myself are working to my best ability. I would also like to gain relationships with students, teachers or even fellow Canadians. I am very nervous about just being in another country totally independent, though I have been to Canada. I am also very nervous about being able to handle and do college level work. I might face the challenges of opening up to people. I will overcome this by being aware that I am by myself and being independent and also by being social.
Thank you for your help in supporting me in my journey of early college awareness and exposure. This is a great opportunity for me to experience college culture and the academic rigor that is expected of a college scholar. Your generosity will support me in building a foundation towards my dream in health and medicine become real. Thank you so much for your kindness.
