Saechelle's Story

My passions are law and forensics. When I was younger, I used to watch CSI shows or ID Discovery all the time. The show was so interesting to me that I could sit there and watch it all day. It felt as if I were in the show, and I was the detective. It always interested me to find out what happened and who did it. I’ve loved to solve problems my whole life. Solving mysteries is very interesting to me. I also love to help people. Solving mysteries and helping people is something that I love to to, and I would be able to do that If I work as a detective or a CSI.

University of New Haven CSI Academy is something that will help me pursue my passion for law because I will get the experience of being a detective and see how it would feel to work as one. It would be an incredible opportunity to know how It feels to be a detective and solve a case. It will be great to gather with other people who share the same interest in law and forensics as I do.

A Note from Mr. Dehnel, Saechelle's Teacher

Saechelle is taking courses at Maloney High School that will help her as she pursue her career in law enforcement including chemistry, civics, and human behavior. She shows character traits that would benefit her in this field such as persistence and independent thinking skills.

An opportunity to attend University of New Haven CSI Academy will have various benefits for Saechelle. The opportunity to experience forensic studies firsthand will create a tangible goal and strengthen her interest, which will in turn motivate her to academically excel. She'll also benefit from talking to peers that share the same interests and see a different angle of the diverse cultures that are outside of our community.
