Zubaida's Story

My passion is writing.

In middle school, I was able to meet Ms. Nager, a 6th Grade English, who allowed me to realize my advanced reading level. Because of her, I learned the power of diction and language. As I became more engaged in her class, I realized that reading and writing were my passions and a source of happiness. As she pushed me to expand on my skills as a reader, my ambitions as a writer increased. Soon, because of her help, I was able to become a fervent, enthusiastic writer and a curious, skilled reader.

By attending Boston University Summer Challenge, I will be able to learn various things such as journalism, philosophy, and law. With knowledge of these things, my knowledge of the world will broaden. This broadened knowledge of the world will become evident in the pieces of writing I create and will help me become a more purposeful reader. With these new skills, I am confident that I will be able to achieve my ultimate goal: positively influencing the world with my writing.
