My passion is competition.
Back in elementary school, I didn't care about my grades as much as I do now. It took me a while to realize that putting in little effort wouldn't get me where I wanted to be. I later found something that made me feel interested in school, and that was competition. I began to set goals for myself, and little by little, my grades started to increase. I was no longer the person who received D's and F's but A's and B's. This isn't necessarily a competition between myself and other people but a competition between the person I want to become and the old me.
Attending Nike Volleyball Camp will develop my passion because I want to challenge myself to try new things. Volleyball is a sport I enjoy playing in my gym class with my classmates, and this program will allow me to play with new friends. This program will also push me out of my comfort zone.

The camp I was able to attend thanks to each and every one of my donors was Nike Volleyball. It was located in Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
Throughout the camp, I spent my time learning new volleyball techniques as well as meeting new girls who were very enthusiastic about the sport as well. Meeting new people had to be one of my favorite parts of this opportunity since my school is still pretty small compared to other high schools; we only have about 300 students. Thanks again to everyone who helped me get to this camp. Without you all, I wouldn't have ever had this experience.
In just a few weeks, I'll be entering Rutgers University for a Nike Volleyball Camp adventure, which I wouldn't be able to attend if it wasn't for each and every one of you! Rutgers is located in New Brunswick, NJ. I'll be traveling there by New Jersey Transit.
This is honestly very exciting for me because I've never been able to go to a camp without family or friends during the summer. Being able to go away to play a sport that I love will be the highlight, as well as meeting new girls who are also interested in volleyball. I made the decision to choose this specific camp because I've played this sport a lot but not as much as I want to. Throughout this amazing experience, I hope to work with dedicated people who share a love for volleyball as much as I do.
Thanks again to everyone who contributed and helped in order for me to have this unforgettable four day trip to Rutgers.
