Jackie's Story

My passion is cheer.

My passion started back in elementary school when I saw the movie "Bring it On," which is a classic cheer movie. I've always thought that cheer was only about being happy, flexible people but when I saw the movie it was much more than that. I found out that it was about dancing, stunting, and simply having fun with your cheer mates. From the day I saw the movie I've always known that high school cheer was something I wanted to to once I get to high school.

Attending UCA Cheer Summer Camp will help me explore my passion In so many ways from learning elite skills, to simply learning from other cheerleaders. I hope UCA Cheer Summer Camp teaches me how handle new stunts, and how to get a crowd going during games, but most importantly how to work well with my team when we have tough days.

A Note from Ms. Milton, Jackie's Coach

"Jackie was very committed to making the Varsity cheer team. There was a lot of competition to make the team this year: 62 students were trying out and 32 were accepted. Jackie did not let the fact that she was smaller than everyone get in her way; she stood out at try outs. Because of her commitment to make Varsity, her dedication and hard work paid off and she got her self to where she is now."

On my way to UCA Cheer Camp!

I'm extremely happy that I have been fully funded to go to cheer camp. I'd like to thank everyone that donated for helping me accomplish my goal. Before I go to cheer camp, I'm looking forward to building amazing relationships with coaches and other cheerleaders. My plan is to step out of my comfort zone and develop new skills. I really hope I make great memories with my fellow cheer mates. Once again thanks to everyone who brought me to such great success!
