My passion for medicine started when I excelled in my science classes at school. Science has always been easy for me to understand. I wanted to be a doctor because I wanted to be someone that people could feel safe with and trust. I aspired to be someone they could depend on.
I hope attending Envision NYLF Medicine will help me pursue my passion for medicine by giving me experience and teaching me skills. For example, I want to know what it's really like to be in a surgery room and how it feels for doctors to know that there are people depending on them and also to be able to grasp more understanding of what different doctors really do. I know I want to do medicine but I also want to get first-hand knowledge on different parts of medicine because I don't know what type of doctor I want to be yet. I'm still debating between a Neurosurgeon or a Ob/Gyn. Hopefully Envision NYLF Medicine will make it clear to me which career in the medical field I'd want to undertake.
Sam is excited and passionate about medicine. I think that her dreams can be fully realized because she is the type of student and person who will always push herself to achieve. She can certainly handle the rigor of the program and will excel at all that it entails! Given Sam's interest in medicine, I think a hands on experience like this one is perfect! It will allow her to take the learning outside of the theoretical and allow her to see up close and personal what a medical career entails. She is hard working, inquisitive, and dedicated. I can think of no other student who would be a better fit.
