Abel's Story

My passion is engineering. My interest in engineering started at a young age. I remember growing up in a house full of computers and their parts all over. When I was 6 years old my brother started to teach me about computers, and I became passionate about technology. He started teaching me about how to fix computers mechanically, treat viruses and address other computer related issues. The only thing wanted to learn was engineering, and I want to get exposure to it. My brother has been a great influence on who I am and what I am interested in today. I dream about becoming a computer engineer one day.

Envision NYLF Engineering and Technology program will help me pursue my career in engineering. The program will expand the knowledge base by allowing me to experience engineering first hand. I want to build a strong foundation in engineering so that I can use my knowledge to expand the possibilities. It will help me with hands-on experience with experts and continue to explore all the different fields of engineering. Connecting with the experts in the engineering field will also allow me to begin building my network in the field, so that I can connect with professionals who can serve as a mentor for me. By acquiring the knowledge and network through the Envision NYLF Engineering and Technology program, I will obtain a solid foundation on which to begin to build my career.
