I just want to start by saying that the Blueprint program was very memorable and eye-opening. I couldn't have experienced the college life before I graduated high school any other way, and I must thank every individual who contributed to helping me gain this unforgettable exposure to college. Also, I truly believe that this program has changed me into a more determined person by making me focus on what I will want to do in the near future and the goals that I have set up for myself.

In Blueprint, I took two classes: writer's workshop and forensic science. In the writer's workshop, I creatively wrote about different scenarios. Also, there were times when the class would create two different characters and give each a name and different characteristics. In forensic science, I learned about different methods that professional forensic scientists use to try to solve a case. Overall, I though that both classes were very interesting because one class got me more in touch with my creative side, and the other gave me the opportunity to try out a class that I have never done before.

One of the most influential aspects of the program was the college prep sessions because this is where I and other individuals talked about college/ university requirements and how to prepare for them. Although I learned a lot from college prep, Blueprint was not solely focused about just learning. It also focused on enjoying the program with fun activities and socializing to make new friends that I would have never met in my normal day-to-day life. Thanks to Blueprint, I have met so many new people who I still stay in contact with. I did not just make any friends, I made a diverse set of friends who have different ethnicities than I do. Making a diverse set of friends was one of the few things that I had hoped to take away from the program. To conclude, I had really enjoyed this program and was really sad when it was the final day. I would totally do something like this again.

I am very thankful for the opportunity to be able to attend the Blueprint Summer program. I chose the writer's workshop due to the fact that I believe that there is always a way in which one can improve their writing no matter their writing level. In class, I have learned so many methods for improving my formatting and effectively editing my paper, like where to properly put commas, but I still need a bit more of practice on it. When I get a opportunity to take classes or programs that will assist with my writing abilities, I always take the opportunity.

At the program, I am looking forward to being enriched with more writing techniques that will help to enhance my writing development. I am also looking forward to the fun activities that await me and other individuals who are also attending and the different environment that I will surrounded by because I am always open to traveling to different locations. Lastly, I am looking forward to the new friends that I will meet. One more thing that I must say is that I am very excited to take part in a summer program that involves going away from home because I have never experienced anything like it before.
