My passion is writing.
I discovered my passion for writing this year, in ninth grade, when my writing teacher gave my class an assignment to write a short story that connects to the theme of “Without experiencing struggles and without hard work, success cannot be achieved.” I instantly was able to dive into my writing, for I have a lot of creativity.
The process of writing a short story is wonderful to me because it allows me to freely express myself and makes me feel this sense of power over my character that i create. I can either make them go through positive or negative things. I can have a happy ending or a solemn ending. Overall the assignment made me realized that I enjoy writing, and/or telling stories.
Throughout the year Breanna was an active participant in her writing class and she always supported her peers. Her caring nature and personality allow her to work well with others in a team setting, as she always respects others' opinions even when they differ from her own. Throughout the year, Breanna demonstrated this openness to and empathy for the opinions, feelings, and perspectives of others, along with shrewd powers of observation, all qualities that makes her outstanding as a student of literature and burgeoning writer.
I am going to be participating in the Creative Writing Workshops this summer. I am really excited to be joining the program due to the fact that I have wished to become better at my writing and try to show others my qualities. I have a strong feeling that I will have a great time at this program and that I will excel.
I would say that I look forward to the experience, getting to know others in my position and just the idea of getting better at what I desire. I am so thankful for this opportunity to be apart of this program. I feel that participating in it will help me in the long run of my writing career.
Can't wait to read your first Pulitzer Prize winning novel!
