Xavier's Story

My passion is football.

I discovered my passion for football because I was raised around it. Growing up, everyone in my family always played football so it became a part of life for me. Every year, I seek to improve my performance on the field and I am driven every year to do better. Football has always been an important part of my life because it has gotten me through difficult times. I use football as an outlet and when I have experienced personal losses, I have always found comfort on the football field.

Attending the UConn Pre-college Summer would definitely help me explore my passion. It would be my first opportunity to really be exposed to the field. It would show me the attributes of what I would need to be successful in this work. It would also be my first experience on a college campus for an extended period of time. As the first in my family to attend college, this would be an invaluable experience and show me what is waiting for me in the future. UConn has a great reputation and to be able to experience the campus would be a dream come true.
