I discovered my passion for writing and musical theater when I was in the 7th grade. It was the first that that I realized that writing wasn't just about essays and getting a good grade, but it is also about telling a story through your experiences or through the eyes of someone else. I realized that plays and musicals could take those words and add deeper meaning on stage. My writing began to relate back to the real world. I could use what I saw in the world and create a space for that to play out on paper.
Having the chance to attend the US Performing Arts Musical Theater program will help me become a better story teller through musical theater. It will also help me become a stronger writer, public speaker, and overall confident student. This will also give me the chance to study on a real college campus, and will better prepare me for life after high school.
Lucinda has demonstrated through various Honors and college readiness courses that she is capable of meeting the demands of a highly rigorous course load that will help her excel academically. She has demonstrated a level of maturity and commitment to her studies, and I believe her to be a mature, purposeful young woman who possesses a very engaging personality. Though tactful, polite and humble, she is very ambitious. She will be a huge asset to this summer program and should definitely have this opportunity.
thank you all for donating, I'm so glad to now have the opportunity to attend an overnight performing arts camp. I cannot wait to have the chance to learn and grow as a performer and a person. I'm ready to have the time of my life and its all possible because of you!
