D'ahna's Story

My passion is to work in fashion.

Fashion has been my passion for a very long time. It all started when I was young. As a kid, I would make fashion shows with my cousins, I would draw and sketch fashion blueprints, and whenever I got my hands on clothes I would immediately try to come up with something fashionable. I've always been an artistic person, and fashion helps me express myself.

I will develop my passion by attending FIDM 3 Days of Fashion because this program will help me get a clear understanding of what I need to do to be successful in the fashion world. As of right now, I follow many YouTubers who show look books and I keep up with Teen Vogue, but actually being in a place where I can become successful like the people I look up to will be a great experience.

My 3 Days at FIDM

Thank you all donors for your generous donations. The FIDM fashion experience gave me so much insight! I was so happy to meet new people, learn about what I love, and ultimately figure out what my next steps will be. At the program we did a ton of workshops, and I made a dress! I even made this cool thing called a mood board, it's like a collage, but there's a focus. So if they wanted me to portray hip and modern street fashion, I put together a whole bunch of pictures that made me feel like I was in the street and saw a whole bunch of neat fashion. They also inspired me to start a Fashion Club at my very own school! It as a great experience and I thank you so much for all your donations.

Excited for FIDM!

I'm looking forward to the FIDM summer program. Fashion has always been a way for me to express myself. I was able to show my feelings through clothes and the way I put them together; fashion is an art. At FIDM we're going to meet some pretty important people in the fashion industry, and I'm overjoyed! We're going to learn the basics of what it takes to be in the industry, and then we're going to design our own outfits. It's all so nerve racking, but I'm ecstatic that I got into the program. I'm finally going to see my fashion career take off.
