Ahmed's Story

My passion is soccer.

Soccer to me is an escape to the stress of my everyday life. When I step on the field with all my friends, I get to briefly revisit my childhood which is full of fun. I know the reason that I love soccer so much, is not simply because of the game itself, but because of the connection it has with my childhood and how free I feel with all of my friends. Soccer to me is like a time machine, where I get to travel to all the moments I have spent playing it. All that friends that had passed by, all the new ones. Soccer is full of fun.

A Note from Ms. Roach, Ahmed's Teacher

Ahmed truly lights up when he talks about playing soccer. If he came from a family of greater means, he would have absolutely had opportunities to attend such a camp. In following his passion, he may not become a professional athlete, but this opportunity could lead him down a number of paths: coaching, sports medicine, etc. He is precisely the type of sweet, respectful kid who deserves a chance to be exposed to new experiences that could shape his future.

Thank You for the AMAZING Experience!

The Nike Soccer Camp was a blast! I had so much fun with my teammates and the Coaches were really nice and leading. I learned a ton of new skills, but also had to properly manage my time and take care of myself as I get older. This was a great experience, and I hope more students will have an opportunity like this.
