My passion is medicine.
In the 7th grade, I started high school at Fishers Island School. Realizing that my future was coming around the corner, I began to think about what profession I would be interested in when I grew up. I was taking a life science course at the time and fell in love with learning about medicine and human anatomy. Two years later, I decided to leave Fishers Island for a local school for its extraordinary biomedical science program. Coming to Science and Technology Magnet High School has allowed me to expand my passion for medicine and human anatomy. I take human body systems which teaches me about communication between all the body systems and their functions. The year before I took principles of biomedical science that taught me about diabetes, sickle cell anemia, and forensics. This program has allowed me to discover my passion for medicine, human anatomy, and biomedical science.
Bria is an excellent student! She is a very determined, ambitious, self-conscientious, hard-working young lady with a big heart for people. We need people like her in the Medical field. Discover Hopkins will be a great opportunity for Bria to participate and get the hands-on experience she needs. This will be ideal both for Bria and for those she comes in contact with. She is an outstanding individual who does not hesitate to get involved. Hence, this experience will help validate her decision to go into the medical field.
I'm very excited to attend Discover Hopkins this summer after all the hard work put into fundraising for this outstanding program. I am extraordinarily thankful for all of those who donated to send me there. I will be finishing out my sophomore year of high school and will be attending this program in the middle of my summer vacation. I can't wait to learn more about my passion!
