My passion is Medicine.
I discovered my passion for medicine when I was in eighth grade. My mother was in a car accident that messed up her back so bad that to this day the disks between her vertebrae are slowly wearing down. I wanted to be a doctor after I heard her first cry of pain because I never wanted to hear that sound again. Every time I hear it, it makes me work harder at school in my health classes because I want to learn everything that I possibly can to help my mother. That is how and why I discovered my passion for medicine.
Shauna would greatly benefit from Blueprint Summer at UConn. As a UConn graduate myself, I have seen firsthand the benefits of the UConn summer programs. I am confident that Shauna will work hard and will enthusiastically pursue all of the opportunities she is given at this program. Additionally, she will benefit greatly from interacting with other motivated teenagers who are invested in their educational goals.
