My passion is writing.
I discovered how much I love to write when I was in 4th grade. We each had a notebook where we could write about anything we wanted, such as our hopes, dreams, or even what we ate for lunch. We could write about anything, as long as we wrote the entire time. Since then, as my knowledge of English has expanded and my writing skills have improved, I've found that I can't go a day without writing in my personal journal. I am ready now to take this passion further and use my love of writing to write about issues I believe are so critical to my community and the world, such as social justice, equality for people of color and victims of domestic violence.
Attending NSLC Journalism, Film & Media Arts will help me explore my passion even further since each subject will expand my knowledge of different writing types and skills. This summer program will also give me an insight into how my writing skills should improve in order for me to be successful in college as well as just a better writer in general. I can't wait for the opportunity.

Hello Donors,
My program sadly came to an end this past Sunday and although it's unfortunate, I had an AMAZING time. I got to pursue my passion as a photographer and my professor taught me how to properly use a DSLR camera as well as many other things. He taught me how to take high angle, tilt shift, and HDR photos as well as how to use photoshop. From the family I made over the course of those 9 days to the hard work I completed in less than 2 days after briefly learning how to use photoshop, this experience truly has changed my life. It has made me a lot more confident in not only myself but in my work as well, and I couldn't be more blessed and thankful for all of you helping me have the best summer I've ever had.
In a little over a month I will be going to what I'm sure to be the best summer experience of my lifetime. I would like to send a GIGANTIC THANK YOU to each and every one of my donors! I know without you, I wouldn't be having this amazing opportunity and experience. I absolutely cannot wait for July 30th to come! Your donations mean the world to me!
